What is the purpose of the Dads of Down Syndrome (DODs) group?

The purpose of DODs is to provide a supportive community for fathers of children with Down syndrome. We focus on connection, sharing resources, emotional support, and creating opportunities for dads to engage and advocate for their children.

Who can join the DODs group?

Any father or father figure who has a child with Down syndrome is welcome to join. Our group is open to all dads, regardless of their child’s age, background, or geographic location.

How do I become a member of DODs?

You can join by reaching out to us through our website or attending one of our local events. We have an easy introduction process to connect you with our resources and community.

What type of support does DODs offer?

DODs offers peer support through regular events, resource sharing, and larger-scale events on topics like advocacy, parenting, mental health, and more. We also provide a safe space for dads to share experiences and advice.

Are there costs associated with joining the group?

No, joining DODs is free.

How often do DODs meetings or events take place?

We host monthly meetings and regular events throughout the year. The exact schedule is available by contacting the Group Manager. Jacob Esser is the Group Manager for the Twin Cities.
